All school bus drivers are required to complete the School Bus Driver Improvement Program training and get the "S" endorsement on their drivers license by July 31,2019.
As of August 1, 2019, all school bus drivers must have the "S" endorsement on their driver's license in order to operate a school bus. Please note that Holy Spirit Catholic Schools is not a licensed driver training school; therefore, we do not provide the "S" endorsement training. Bus Driver Training
In addition to the School Bus Driver Improvement Program training, activity bus driver applicants are also required to successfully complete Holy Spirit Catholic Schools' online activity bus driver training. The required readings for this training are (1) Holy Spirit RCSRD No.4 Bus Driver's Guide (2) Modules 2, 6 & 8 from the Ministry of Transportation's Commercial Vehicle Safety Compliance in Alberta education manual, and 3) Activity Bus Accident Protocol.

Safety and Maintenance Program
Alberta Regulation 314/2002 requires the school division to implement and maintain a Safety and Maintenance Program. All volunteer activity bus drivers are required to read this program. A copy of the Safety and Maintenance Program is filed at each of the schools that operate multi-functional school activity buses and a copy of the program is also located in each of the school division's buses.
